We've been consulting about the future of the Messenger and lots of you have told us you would be willing to pay for the newspaper. But everyone agrees it is important to deliver the Messenger to every household and many people in our community are already struggling financially. The Messenger is for everyone, not just people who can afford it.

So, we are inviting donations instead of a cover price. If you are in a position to do so, you can now donate online securely at

One-off or regular donations

You can set up a one-off donation or a regular Direct Debit. And if you donate £10 on Triple Tenner Tuesday – 2nd December – it will be entered into a draw, with 1000 randomly selected donations tripled to £30!

As an extra incentive, we'll send you a special limited-edition Burngreave Messenger 2015 calendar if you donate £5 or more before the end of December 2014. The Calendar features cartoons by Patrick Amber that have featured in the Messenger.

Your donations will go towards keeping the Messenger delivered free to everyone in Burngreave and Fir Vale.

Donate on 2nd December - and see your gift tripled!
12:01am to 11:59pm Tuesday 2 December 2014
