Faiza’s success has now been recognised by a recent visit to Firvale Enterprise Centre by the Rt. Hon. John Hutton MP, Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform

Faiza has led the way by setting up her new business and demonstrating how an enterprising single mother of two can balance caring responsibilities for her children, whilst fully realising her potential within the business world.

Faiza has set up cleaning company Fresh Solution UK, with support from BIG’s Neighbourhood Enterprise Champion. Faiza, who has both lived and worked in Burngreave since moving to Sheffield 20 years ago, saw the need to provide women in the area with employment and training opportunities.

Faiza said:

“Fresh Solution UK is a cleaning business offering residential and commercial cleaning for the Sheffield area, as well as offering training and development opportunities to ethnic minority women.

“I have always wanted to start my own business and whilst employed as a community worker in Burngreave it became clear that women in the area were not taking up opportunities to receive the support that they wanted and needed.”

Working with Burngreave Opportunities and The Source, 10 BME ladies have successfully completed accredited training courses and seven now work for this forward thinking business.

“Straight away I had a huge amount of interest from women who were looking for work. It quickly became apparent that many of them would not only need practical and health and safety training for the job, but also training in the English language.

“I contacted Neighbourhood Enterprise Champion Lisa, who was able to help me source the funding for the business, as well as putting me in contact with sales and marketing teams to establish potential business leads and support me along the way.”

Through the support from the local ‘BiG, Make it your Business Team’ based at Sorby House, Faiza has progressed well along the journey of setting up her business, accessing expert sales and contract support and grown in confidence with the help of her mentor. Faiza’s confidence has grown and success is now growing, with Faiza securing her fourth contract, setting up her office in Sorby House and now gaining the credibility as a successful business woman within the local community. She is an excellent example of a new local business hero inspiring others!
